About North Hills Pet Care

The Heart Behind the Paws

Our Standard

Founded in 2026 by Gabrielle Lucarini. After 2+ years as a solo professional sitter, Gabrielle realized that a team-based approach was the only way to provide a truly high standard of care. By prioritizing work-life balance for our sitters, we ensure they arrive at your door rested, happy, and ready to give your pet their full attention.

We believe every pet deserves personalized attention and every owner deserves total peace of mind. To us, no detail is too small. We are fully insured and bonded through Pet Care Insurance to give you that extra layer of security.

We are extremely selective, hiring only dedicated local animal lovers. Every team member is Pet CPR Certified and carefully matched to assignments based on their specific expertise—ensuring your pet is always with a sitter who is confident in their needs.

We believe in a team-centered approach to care. Your pet will often have a small circle of “primary best friends” who all know their routine by heart. This ensures your pet always receives seamless, high-energy attention from a familiar face, no matter the time of day or season of the year.

Our Values

We believe that clear, honest dialogue is a two-way street. We provide you with detailed updates and photos after every visit, and we rely on you to keep us informed of any changes in your pet’s needs or home instructions. By staying on the same page, we can tackle any issue head-on and ensure your pet’s care is always perfect

We don’t believe in “one size fits all.” We view ourselves as your partners in pet parenting, tailoring every visit to your pet’s unique personality and your specific household routine. This collaborative approach ensures that we aren’t just “pet sitters,” but an extension of your pet’s family.

Your schedule is important, and your pet’s routine is sacred. We built our team-based model specifically to guarantee that we show up exactly when we say we will. Rain or shine, you can rest easy knowing that our “coverage-first” mindset means your pet’s visit is never a question mark.

Our Team

Our Sitter Standard – We don’t just hire pet lovers; we hire professionals. Every team member is background-checked, Pet CPR Certified, and hand-selected for their unique expertise. We take pride in our “picky” hiring process to ensure your pet is matched with a sitter who truly understands their needs.

Gabrielle Lucarini

Owner/Founder

Hi, I’m Gabrielle, the owner and founder of North Hills Pet Care. In 2024, I left my career in corporate accounting to pursue work built around my love for animals.

As an independent pet sitter, my goal was to provide the kind of loving, dependable care I would want for my own pets. I created North Hills Pet Care to grow those services while maintaining a high standard of care through a thoughtful, team-based approach.

What pets do you currently own?

I currently own 2 Pit bulls (Zoey is in photo above!), 1 polydactyl cat, and 3 bunnies. I also foster 2 rabbits!

If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?

I would love to be one of my own dogs. They are spoiled with love, get gourmet dinners, get to sleep as much as they want…and they even go to local breweries! That sounds like a pretty good life to me!

Fun fact about you!

I am exceptionally good at finding 4 leaf clovers.

What is your favorite part about working with animals?

What is there not to like?! When I am at a client’s house, I do not feel like I am working. My job in corporate accounting wore me down so quickly. Now, I get excited to go to work.

What is your professional background outside of pet care?

I graduated with a finance degree from RMU in 2018. I worked various corporate jobs from data entry to accounting. Thankfully, my husband encouraged me to start pet sitting after I was let go during a mass lay off. Now I am pet sitting and running a business (and taking care of my small zoo)!

If you could be any animal, what would it be?

If I could be any animal, I would be a dog. Dogs are loyal, friendly, and always seem to enjoy life. I love that they bring happiness to others, stay active, and form strong bonds with the people they care about. I think being a dog would be fun because they live with so much energy and joy.

Fun fact about you!

I was adopted from Russia when I was two years old.

What is your favorite part about working with animals?

My favorite part about working with animals is getting to know their unique personalities and building a bond with them. I love earning their trust and seeing them happy and comfortable. It’s rewarding to know that I’m helping care for them and making a positive difference in their day.

What is your professional background outside of pet care?

I am an elementary educator with experience supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. In addition to teaching, I work closely with students as an emotional support teacher, helping them build confidence, social skills, and positive coping strategies in the classroom.

What pets do you currently own?

Miso – 4 year old Shiba Inu
Loki – 11 year old black cat
Artichoke – 6 year old tabby cat

If you could be any animal, what would it be?

If I had to choose, I’d be a cheetah. They’re incredibly fast and athletic and built for efficiency. They’re graceful, agile, and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just a few seconds. Also, the natural black “eyeliner” is iconic. I can relate to the cheetah because they’re independent, but not solitary all the time, and they spend a lot of their day relaxing and conserving energy between bursts of activity. What I admire about the cheetah is that they’re elegant rather than intimidating and they’re one of the most unique-looking big cats!

Fun fact about you!

I know how to juggle.

What is your favorite part about working with animals?
